Published on October 12, 2012 At 01:00:03 GMT on October 12, 2005, a Long March 2F rocket carrying a Chinese-made capsule called Shenzhou 6 launched into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert, located approximately 1,000 miles from Beijing.
