This Week’s Hints to help you along:
- That may be a Boeing marque on the tail, but….
- The cockpit is distinctly a Dornier-type design.
- Two 1,400 hp engines gave a top speed faster than 200 mph.
- Four wing-mounted machine guns — for ground attack?

It IS in fact a Boeing, though from their Stearman division.
It was known as Type X 100; U.S.A.A.C. designation was as the Stearman XA-27.
The big greenhouse cockpit was later reconstructed into a more conventional type with stepped windows.
Correct! The big greenhouse cockpit was a design influenced by the new generation of German Luftwaffe bombers which featured similar greenhouse-style canopy designs.
