It IS in fact a Boeing, though from their Stearman division.
It was known as Type X 100; U.S.A.A.C. designation was as the Stearman XA-27.
The big greenhouse cockpit was later reconstructed into a more conventional type with stepped windows.
Correct! The big greenhouse cockpit was a design influenced by the new generation of German Luftwaffe bombers which featured similar greenhouse-style canopy designs.
